Inspection standards and methods for children's smart watches
Children's electronic watch recall causes huge losses

With the rise of wearable devices, children's smart watches are also rising in the market trend. Children's smart watches have almost become "standard" for children, and are exported to the EU, the United States and South Korea in large quantities, and the corresponding quality inspection problems also follow. Come, the recall of children's electronic watches has caused huge losses, and the test library inspection provides professional third-party children's smart watch inspections.

On April 22, the Australian ACCC notified a case of a recall of children's smartwatches. The reason for the recall was that the battery buckle was not strong, and the button battery may cause suffocation or serious illness to children.

Children's smart watch inspection specification standard GB/T 41411-2022, this standard will be officially implemented on November 1, 2022. It specifies the inspection requirements for children's watches and the inspection methods for children's smart watches.

1. Use reliability

1.1 Observe the working and display status of the children's watch, press the function buttons of the children's watch, and check the working status of each function of the children's watch. Children's watches should not stop under normal conditions of use, and parts, parts and components should not fall off by themselves;

1.2 The digital display of the liquid crystal children's quartz watch and pointer, and the liquid crystal digital children's quartz watch should be normal, there should be no missing strokes, ghosting and no display, etc., and the function keys should be flexible and reliable. The digital display of the children's smart watch should be normal, and the function keys should be flexible and reliable.

2. Vibration resistance

The children's watch should not stop after the vibration resistance test, and the parts and components should not be loose or damaged. In addition, different types of children

Quartz watches should also meet the following corresponding requirements:

- The variation of the instantaneous daily difference before and after the test of the liquid crystal children's quartz watch shall comply with the relevant regulations:

- The actual error before and after the test of pointer type children's quartz watch and pointer, liquid crystal digital children's quartz watch should not exceed 10s;

- The digital display of the LCD children's quartz watch and hands, and the LCD digital children's quartz watch should be normal.

3. Waterproof performance

For children's watches marked with "waterproof", the waterproof performance shall comply with the provisions of GB/T30106. The display should function normally during and after the test.

4. Shockproof performance

For children's watches marked with "shockproof", their shockproof performance shall meet the requirements for quartz watches in GB/T38022. Children's watches without the "shockproof" mark should not stop after the shockproof performance test, the liquid crystal display is normal, and the zeros, parts and components should not be loose, fall off or damaged.

5. Corrosion resistance

After the children's watch has been tested for corrosion performance, there should be no visible corrosion spots, corrosion deposits and salt precipitation on the surface of the watch case and its accessories.

6. Anti-static properties

Liquid crystal children's quartz watches and pointers, liquid crystal digital children's quartz watches and children's smart watches should not stop or reset during and after the anti-static performance test, and the display and watch operating parts should function normally after the test.

7. Chemical Properties

The content of migratory elements, limited plasticizers, nickel release, and the limit of harmful substances in leather materials in the accessible parts and parts of children's watches that come into contact with the human body should all meet the relevant requirements.

8. Overlay Adhesion

On the test area of the case or strap of the children's watch, use a ruler and a hard steel knife with sharp corners to draw a 2mmx2mm square. Apply enough pressure so that the scribe can cut the cover layer to the base material in one pass; after that, stick the cover layer of the test area with 29N/cm~3.3N/cm adhesive tape with no residue and adhesive force and be careful squeeze out air bubbles. After 10s, tear off the tape quickly with a force perpendicular to the surface of the dry cover, and use a low-power microscope to examine the surface of the cover and the tape.

After the watch case and the strap of the children's watch with the covering layer have undergone the adhesion test, the surface of the covering layer should not have cracks, blistering, separation, or falling off.

9. External force resistance of accessories

Synthesize the strap buckle of the children's watch into a ring, apply a static tension F of 50N to the strap as shown in the figure below and keep it for more than 5s. After the test, check the accessories of the children's watch. After the children's watch has undergone the external force resistance performance test of the accessories, there should be no parts falling off and cracking in the connection parts and straps of the watch.

10. Resistance to tension and torsion fatigue

After the children's watch has undergone the tensile torsion fatigue test, the watch strap should be free of cracks or breaks. The elongation of the plastic strap should not be greater than 3%, and the deformation of the buckle hole of the strap should not be greater than 50%.

11. Appearance

Under the condition that the illuminance value of the inspection work surface is not less than 600lx, the inspection shall be carried out at the clear sight distance from the inspector.

- The dial surface of the children's watch should be clean, the various character patterns should be accurate and clear, and there should be no obvious defects and flaws.

- The glass, back cover and inlaid decorative parts of the children's watch should be firmly matched with the watch case, and there should be no obvious gaps and defects at the connection. Watch glass should be clean and clear.

- The exterior parts of children's watches should not have obvious pitting, scratches, burrs, sharp edges and other defects that affect safe wearing and use. Its design shape should not cause harm to the human body.

- Safety warning signs: by visual inspection. Children's watches should have Chinese safety warning signs on the instructions, labels and signs or packaging: Safety warning signs should be eye-catching, easy to read, easy to understand and not easy to wipe off: Safety warning signs should be similar to the following:

"Warning! Not suitable for children under 3 years old. Contains small parts."

Warnings about specific hazards should be marked on the children's watch packaging or instructions for use.

12. Operating temperature

The smart watch for children should work normally within the operating temperature range of -5°~50°.

13. Static positioning

The static positioning performance of the children's smart watch in the hot start state should meet the requirements of the following table. Among them, the effective positioning rate is the number of effective positioning divided by the total number of static positioning tests: the average distance error is the arithmetic mean of the positioning distance error under effective positioning; the average positioning time is the arithmetic mean of the positioning time under effective positioning.

14 calls

Children's smart watches with call function shall have the network access license of telecommunication equipment and the approval license of radio transmission equipment type.

15 Electromagnetic radiation

The local exposure limits of electromagnetic radiation of children's smart watches should meet the requirements of the following table.
