EU Kitchenware Standard EN 12983 Updated.

Exporting kitchenware to EU countries?

Pay attention to the EU kitchenware export inspection and the EU kitchenware export quality control. On February 22, 2023, the European Standards Committee released the new version of the kitchenware standards EN 12983-1:2023 and EN 12983-2:2023, replacing the old standards EN 12983-1:2000/AC:2008 and CEN/TS 12983-2:2005. The national standards of EU member states will be abolished by August at the latest.

  • Added handle tensile strength test from the original CEN/TS 12983-2:2005

  • Added non-stick coating performance test

  • Added corrosion resistance test for non-stick coatings from the original CEN/TS 12983-2:2005

  • Added heat distribution test from the original CEN/TS 12983-2:2005

  • Added and modified the applicability test of multiple heat sources from the original CEN/TS 12983-2:2005
