What is CPSIA certification?
U.S. certification for children's consumer products

1. Introduction to CPSIA

1.1 CPSIA is the abbreviation of the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act.

CPSIA affects all U.S.-related industries that manufacture, import and distribute toys, apparel, and other children's products and care products. All manufacturers shall ensure that their products comply with all provisions, prohibitions, standards, or rules of the Act.

The CPSA certification is a US certification for children's consumer products. The CPSA certification requirements are designed to further enhance the safety of children's products on the market, increase consumer confidence in products, and limit the use of lead and phthalates in children's products. , the implementation of mandatory toy standards (ASTM f963), and so on. CPSIA is the Security Improvement Act signed into effect by President Bush on August 14, 2008. The Act is the toughest consumer protection bill since the establishment of the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) in 1972. In addition to stricter requirements for lead content in children's products, the new bill also makes new regulations on the content of phthalates, a harmful substance in toys and child care products. In addition, the bill requires the establishment of a public database of consumer product safety.

1.2 Relationship between CPSC and CPSIA:

The Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA) is the toughest consumer protection act created since the establishment of the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).

The content of CPSIA can be divided into two parts, the first part is the regulations on consumer product safety, and the second part is mainly about the legal provisions made to reform and strengthen the work of the CPSC in the United States.

The Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA) was designed to allow the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) to better regulate the safety of products sold and imported in the United States.
